Respected guests!
Please find enclosed photographs, outlines and a ground-plan of the house together with this text. My wish is to inform you
about the place, accommodation and links with an island of Sipan to acquire an accurate picture of choosing Sipanjska Luka as your holiday destination. I have to apologize in advance for an unusual
approach probably due to my being a computer technician and not a tourist agent.
You are already familiar with the place and the island from www.dubrovnikportal.com (tourism-private accommodation – Dubrovnik, island of Sipan) and http://www.geocities.com/dubrava76/dubrovnik/archive.html . Sipanjska Luka is a place with 150 inhabitants during the winter months, and that number is multiplied ten times during the two summer
months. Therefore, the best time for holiday is a pre-season and after-season, particularly September for everyone looking for peace and relaxation. Swimming is allowed throughout the cove. An unwritten
rule says, in vicinity of asphalt
shores you are obliged to swim in swim-suits (except in Prijezba cove), while nudists and swimmers in topless and suits share all other coves. There are three private restaurants, two supermarkets, a Post office, a hotel, an a disco run by Sipan youth, as well as an ambulance (an out-patient clinic). There are two doctors on call and they can be reached on following phone numbers (099-502696;020-758120;020-759202;099-502695).
Beside Sipanjska Luka there is another small place on the island called Sudurad (4 km by asphalt road through Sipan field),
which is a fishermen place emerged around fortifications of Dubrovnik Republic.
More about the island, its history, summer houses and legends I leave up to your curiosity, conversations with locals and hiking
paths along the island.
The island of Sipan is situated 30 km from Dubrovnik, opposite to Slano on the mainland. If you travel by car I recommend the
shortest route Croatian border – Zagreb – Karlovac – Slunj – Plitvice Lakes – Korenica – Udbina – Gracac – Knin – Sinj – Trilj – V. Cista – Cista Provo – Sestanovac – Adriatic road – Makarska – Ploce –
Neum – Slano – Dubrovnik.
In case you wish to travel along the coast, you have to follow the road to Zadar after passing Gracac and then take Adriatic
road to Sibenik – Split – Makarska -....Dubrovnik. This is a longer route and more beautiful because you travel along the coast. Nevertheless, this is a very frequent road during the turist season, with
many ditours of major cities therefore I do not recommend it.
You should stop for shopping in Neum (particularly food products), because of the favourable prices. Neum is in neighbouring
country and therefore there is a possibility of border stopping but usualy only with presentation of passports.
You can park your vehicle in Slano, in a courtyard of franciscan monastery with minimum compensation (which was 0.5 EUR a day
last year).
You
can ask for a barge by calling one of the mentioned numbers,
that will take you and your luggage to Sipanjska Luka. A transport
by barge takes 40-50 minutes and is charged 25 EUR. You get
off board in front of the Post office, near the street that
leads to the house.

capacity of 10 people + luggage

Brajević Miloš 098-427007 – a barge with the capacity of
8 people + luggage.
Tourists who decide to take a trip to Dubrovnik can leave their car in one of the public garages or parking areas after getting
luggage on board in Gruz port. Due to crowd and a lack of space in parking areas, I recommend Slano again.
The third possibility is moving the car to Sudurad on the Island of Sipan by ferry that can be organized on Mondays with
previous order in Jadrolinija on phone number 020-418000. Due to high transport expenses, no traffic conditions (there is only a local road Sudurad – Sipanjska Luka 3 km long), and cars are generally not
permitted within the place, I do not recommend this solution. Price for ticket is 1.5-2.5 EUR.

The house itself (property of Miseta family) is situated 50m from the coast (in the street that leads along the future planned tennis
courts. On the ground floor there are two rooms. You can see the sea from the terrace and the rooms on the upper floor through the rich orange treee crowns, but there is a broader view from the ground
floor (because of the high cut of the tree crowns) on whole Sipan cove and the open sea with Island Mljet in distance.
Prices stated on www.dubrovnikportal.com include one beds as well as a state price residence free. The residence fee and 22% tax have to be paid on state account.
Bed-clothes are changed once a week if whole house is under rent. If only some of
the rooms on the upper floor are rented than grandpa Nikola and Grandma Nike are accommodated on the ground floor, who can provide you with all information overseen in this text.
